SUMMARY

Under moderate supervision, the Machine Operator II specializes in operating a variety of automatic or semi-automatic equipment used in the production of products, including feeding materials for processing, adjusting settings, performing minor repairs, and pulling finished product. Troubleshoots, checks, and inspects equipment and operation results against predetermined tolerances.

JOB DUTIES



  • Operate machines and/or equipment in a safe manner as directed and per company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to produce acceptable saleable product.
  • Set up tooling and/or equipment as required for each job based on instructions
  • Maintain all machines and equipment as instructed by preventative maintenance and good housekeeping documentation. Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs of equipment as required
  • Transport and/or inspect product as directed and/or trained based on a knowledge of layout and the safe operation of material moving and equipment handling including lift truck and pallet jack
  • Ensure product quality, equipment functionality and production goals are met for the assigned station(s)
  • Review work orders and shipping documents to determine appropriate actions.
  • Organize and maintain the areas around the machining work cells according to procedure
  • Follows all company policies to include safety procedures for safe production building and following appropriate wear of personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas of operation.
  • Collaborate with other employees to ensure area success
  • Perform other duties as assigned



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS



  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) year of experience operating equipment and/or machinery in a manufacturing setting
  • Training and certification in safe and efficient operation of equipment and tools
  • Experience working to meet operating standards with pace
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents relating to the job, function or assignment.
  • Ability to work a variety of job assignments
  • Ability to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to work in a powdery environment.



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Two (2) years of experience operating machinery in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical/software-based machinery



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to execute physical activities within the production areas (i.e. stand, walk, sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).

Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds consistently and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
