Job Description

Job Summary:

In this position, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of Mercury's material costing and estimating activities while meeting the company's profitability objective. This position is responsible for managing and participating in the cost estimating activities for Mercury's Divisional organizations in support of proposals and contracts efforts.

Job Responsibilities:



  • Support program management in establishing material estimation at the proposal, RFQ, and ROM kick-off meeting.
  • Assist in the strategic development of the cost-estimating function.
  • Analyze make and buy strategy with Strategic sourcing team for the established configurated bill of materials (CBOM).
  • Review sourcing strategy with the Commodity Managers and technical Engineers, including identifying lead times and vetting suppliers.
  • Validate bill of material (BOM) pricing accuracy
  • Ensure the completion and compliance of FAR & DFARS artifacts and supporting documents
  • Prepare Cost Analysis & Price Analysis (CAPA) and review and establish commercial item determination.
  • Register and advise the business leadership team with potential material risks.
  • Protect the company position and facilitate the accomplishment of program cost estimating objectives.
  • Accountable for implementing and administrating policies and procedures that ensure company processes comply with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Support proposal final review, approval as well as negotiation process.
  • Manage customer material and or supply chain-related communication, Representing the company as the primary cost-estimating contact.
  • Develops appropriate electronic and hard copy reports and records. May develop new or revise existing electronic or hard copy systems and makes internal and external presentations.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Able to collaborate and work with Program, Engineer, and Operations team.


Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business, Engineering and/or technical discipline and a minimum of 3 years' experience.
  • Experience supporting US Government proposals and ability to write proposal supporting documents as needed.
  • Advance experience in data management skills: Preparing reports and metrics as needed for decision making and other purpose.
  • Advance experience Excel, SQL, and other other data mining skills.
  • Proficient in big data management and familiarity with pricing models and factors.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Candidate with Supply Chain / Purchasing / Material Planning Management / Operations experience.
  • Experience in defense contracting, proposal material estimation.
  • Familiarity or experience in commodity inflation, market research.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, with all levels of management and individual contributors.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and problem solve while managing multiple tasks effectively and without compromising quality of work.
  • Ability to network, collaborate, and influence.
  • Ability to work with all levels of management.


Full-Time Equivalent Annual Salary Range: $63,600 - $127,200 for a Individual Contributor II at Remote USA.
