STV has an immediate opening for a Structural Engineer (Buildings)to join our growing team in our Boston, MA officeas part of the Buildings Division! This is a great opportunity for an individual to work on exciting projects as part of a team of dedicated engineers. Current projects with current and long-standing clients include public transit terminals, transportation maintenance facilities, public convention spaces, and correctional facilities. Other potential projects include public safety, commercial/retail, public health, education buildings.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of challenging projects, which will include tasks such as the design of a variety of new and renovated structures including buildings, transit stations, retaining walls, and other miscellaneous structures; analysis of existing structures; review and/or production of construction submittals; and review of contract plans for conformance with established design criteria.

This position also offers a flexible career path with opportunities to pursue a technical track with increasing design and leadership responsibilities or to grow into a project management role.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and analysis of buildings and other structures in steel, concrete, masonry, and wood.
  • Develop structural drawings and specifications.
  • Produce engineering reports.
  • Construction administration (review shop drawings and respond to RFI) and attend site visits.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of structural engineering experience.
  • PE required or in the process of getting a PE.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software such as ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, RAM and RISA3D.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (knowledge of VBA preferred).
  • Strong skills in structural analysis, steel, and concrete design.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects at the same time.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A desire to learn and make processes more efficient.
  • A self-starter and ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.

Compensation Range:

$98,010.59 - $130,680.78
