Men's Health, Aging, and Metabolism Research is seeking a highly motivated co-op student intern to support our research team with a primary focus on a women's pelvic health study examining testosterone therapy on stress urinary incontinence. This position offers a valuable opportunity to gain direct experience in clinical research aimed at improving women's health outcomes. In addition to the women's health study, the co-op student intern may assist with other ongoing clinical trials involving diabetic kidney disease, exercise science, metabolism, hormones, and aging. Our research spans a diverse population including healthy, physically active individuals as well as patients with chronic conditions such as type 2 diabetes. Populations served include young adults, adults, older adults, and geriatric individuals. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in health science, medical science, or clinical research, and will gain hands-on experience in clinical trial implementation, collaboration with basic scientists, and exposure to regulatory practices and procedures. This is an on-site position located at 221 Longwood Avenue, Boston, MA 02115.

Currently enrolled as a student pursuing a relevant degree or diploma in a healthcare-related field. 0-1 year required

Duties and Responsibilities

- Participates in the day-to-day conduct of multiple ongoing clinical trials in accordance with the individual study protocols.

- Assists in scheduling and conducting study visits.

- Assists in recruiting and evaluating potential study participants through review of electronic medical records and research patient databases.

- Conducts telephone prescreen interviews and schedule participants for screening and study visits per protocol instructions.

- Assists in preparing and documenting Case Report Forms (CRF's) for participant study visits.

- Upon completion of study visits, inputs participant data into the respective electronic databases.

- Collects vital signs, anthropometric data, performs EKGs, administers and scores psychometric questionnaires.

- Helps to maintain compliance with BWH Institutional Review Board (IRB), including assisting in submission and organization of regulatory materials.

- Strong interest in clinical research and a desire to gain practical experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and staff.
- Detail-oriented with good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
- Proficient in using basic computer software.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute as part of a healthcare team.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and privacy laws is an asset.
