Job Summary

We're currently seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Sports Specialist. Coordinate the Department's assigned activities and events under the general direction of the designated supervisor. The role involves assessing program eligibility, organizing program events, managing facility usage, supervising program-related expenses, updating the program activity database, disseminating information about the activities, supervising volunteers, and offering extra program support when necessary. Camp programming experience is also preferable. Successful candidates will demonstrate effective communication skills, be driven, flexible, and able to work independently, be team players, be hardworking, and take responsibility for their job.
We are currently hiring for the following locations: * PRCS, 742 Miller Drive, SE, Leesburg, VA 20175
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Coordinates assigned activities. * Manages the program budget and formulates the marketing strategy. * Oversees the staffing of programs and activities. * Contracts with vendors for services, materials, or equipment. * Ensures the upkeep of program documentation. * May carry out additional critical job responsibilities pertinent to the role and departmental assignment.

Minimum Qualifications
-
Associate degree in a field related to the assigned program or department and two years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications: * Familiarity with personal computers and proficiency in utilizing various software applications, including Windows and the Microsoft Office Suite, as well as other departmental software programs. * Understanding of volunteer development services. * Capability to develop and sustain professional relationships with clients, participants, colleagues, staff members, officials, volunteers, vendors, coaches, parents, and the broader community. * Proficiency in keeping detailed and precise records of programs and clients, as well as in generating reports. * Capability to operate automated systems and equipment for designated responsibilities. * Bi-lingual skills including English preferred.

Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Must undergo criminal, credit, and DMV background checks. The position requires a valid driver's license and a good driving record. Driving records may undergo an annual review to maintain qualification. Within 30 days of hire, fingerprinting and a TB test are required.
