Children's Initiative Administrator

Under the general supervision of the Director of Children's Initiatives, the Children Initiative Administrator provides oversight, management, and coordination for all activities within Children Initiative Department. This position is also responsible for the overseeing children services for ages 0 to 21st birthday, grants, special programs, and supervise staff within the department.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Coordinates CONNECTION's - Wayne County's Children System of Care activities.
  • Represents the interests of DWIHN's Children's Initiatives within the stakeholder community to further the development of the system of care group.
  • Represents DWIHN Children's Initiatives by attending stakeholder functions.
  • Supports the long-and-short-term goals and objectives of the DWIHN Children's Initiatives department for the development and implementation of system of care for children
  • Represents DWIHN at other forums as assigned by the Director of Children Initiatives or their designee
  • Participate and or facilitate meetings and committees as assigned (Ex: Team Meetings, Human Services Community Collaborative (HSCC), Cross System Management (CSM), Children System Transformation (CST), Juvenile Justice Community Mental Health (JJ/CMH) meetings).
  • Develops and monitors productivity and efficiency standards
  • Communicates with the stakeholder community and shares information about DWIHN Children's Initiatives' System of Care.
  • Assists in the preparation of reports on outcomes.
  • Works directly with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) regarding the implementation of children services grants and contracts. Submit grant reports and progress in the state EGRAMS system timely.
  • Review and process Financial Review Statements (FSRs).
  • Preparing special program pre contracting documentation, board action, and
  • Assists in the development of funding proposals and interagency contracts/agreements.
  • Serves as a liaison with assigned state groups such as legislatures, the Collaborative State Round Table, and community groups.
  • Oversees the Youth United Program
  • Oversees the Baby Court Program
  • Supervises programs and support staff as assigned
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

A Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, the Human Services, the Social Services or a related field.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

Three (3) years of professional experience as a supervisor, manager, project manager or performing academic research in a human service or social service field.

AND

At least two (2) years of professional experience training staff in clinical services.

REQUIRED LICENSE(S):

A Valid State of Michigan clinical licensure: LMSW, LMHC, LPC, LLP, or PhD.

REQUIRED LICENSE(S).

A Valid State of Michigan Driver's License with a safe and acceptable driving record.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is usually performed in an office setting but requires the employee to drive to different sites throughout Wayne County and the State of Michigan. This position can work remotely with supervisory approval. Currently this position is primarily a hybrid position.
