Job Title: Physician Billing - Refunds, Credits & Underpayments Specialist
Location: Melville, NY Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30AM:4:45PM Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to join our team in managing physician billing accounts, with a focus on refunds, credits, and underpayments. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate financial reconciliation and compliance with payer contracts and internal policies. Key Responsibilities: * Analyze physician billing accounts to identify and resolve credit balances, refunds, and underpayments. * Coordinate daily workflows and support staff in executing timely and compliant account resolutions. * Ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures, and compliance guidelines. * Conduct insurance follow-up and utilize payer contracts to validate and resolve discrepancies. * Process payer recoupments and refunds accurately and efficiently. * Communicate effectively with ancillary departments including Insurance AR Follow-up and Cash Posting. * Provide analytical support and oversight of collection agency activities. Required Skills & Experience: * Intermediate-level experience in physician billing and insurance follow-up. * Strong understanding of payer contract terms and reimbursement methodologies. * Proficiency in processing Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance claims. * Familiarity with CPT coding, ICD-10, and medical billing practices. * Experience with invoicing, payment posting, and accounts receivable management. * Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications: * Prior experience supporting physician billing operations. * Knowledge of billing systems and electronic health record (EHR) platforms. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $55000.00/yr.
