- Medford, OR
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
- $19-23/hr with bonus opportunities

The Inside Sales Representative position sells medical, industrial and specialty gases, welding equipment and hard goods and tools to customers. This position responds to inquiries or concerns from either walk-in customers or those customers that call in. The Inside Sales Representative provides additional VMI support as needed to customers in the area.

In particular, you will:

  • Responsible for adherence to company policies including safety and the use of personal protective equipment.

  • Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers.

  • Ensures all required paperwork is accurately completed, including coding, costing, and pricing.

  • Advises customers on tools, hardware, and materials, and any necessary procedures to follow to complete tasks customers wish to perform.

  • Processes orders in the SAP system including, cash and charge orders.

  • May assist with reconciliation of cash and bank deposits.

  • Communicates by phone, e-mail, and in person with customers, sales staff, store managers and others, inquiring about and providing information on cost, ordering and delivery times, etc.

  • Develops outgoing call strategy to support sales growth for the branch.

  • May coordinate a transfer of merchandise requested by customers to and from other locations.

  • Answers customer questions concerning locations, prices and use of merchandise.

  • Processes total price and tax on merchandise purchased by customers using appropriate equipment.

  • Accepts payment and makes change for customer purchases. Assists in loading and unloading cylinders outside the storeroom.

  • Arranges with customers for the delivery of cylinder and/or hard goods requested.

  • May need to coordinate with the purchasing department for any product shortages or outages.

  • Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that builds relationships with internal and external customers.

  • Stocks showroom shelves with merchandise, maintains showroom displays, and keeps warehouses stocked, clean and organized.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

  • A high school diploma or equivalent. Additional post high school education and/or training preferred.

  • Must have a valid US driver's license.

  • Prior customer service and/or inside sales related experience required.

  • Prior experience with SAP preferred, not required.

  • Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing; listens effectively and clarifies information as needed; works well with others in a team environment across the organization knowing who to engage to achieve results. Uses candor and sensitivity in their dealings with others.

  • Exhibits customer focused behavior such as building positive relationships and strives to understand customer's needs, both internal and external.

  • Working knowledge of Google Suites.

  • Demonstrates a clear and effective speaking manner for the purpose of explaining information to customers and employees and strong customer service skills.

  • Detail-oriented.

  • Ability to maintain and demonstrate a positive attitude with all Airgas associates, customers, vendors and other Airgas business partners

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to apply to customer sales analysis and cost comparisons.

  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational and time management skills to include the ability to multi- task and effectively manage projects in a diverse organization.

  • Job requires visitation to various Airgas and customer sites, which have varying environments/conditions, layouts, and accessibility. Environment may contain loud noises and/or odors that may last for an extended period of time or on a continual basis.
