Role Summary

We are looking for a highly driven and strategic Field Mobile Optimization Manager to lead the execution and optimization of our mobile service operations. In this critical role, you will own the capacity utilization strategy for our Mobile Technicians and vehicles, ensuring these resources are tightly integrated into our overall production planning model.This leader will serve as the connective tissue between field leadership, Mobile Programs, and central planning teams-driving performance, scaling operations, and delivering exceptional service to our customers through innovative mobile delivery models.You'll manage the routing strategy, execution of mobile programs, productivity targets, and field team feedback loop to continually refine and elevate our mobile service offering. With a focus on delivering fast, measurable results, this role requires operational excellence, cross-functional influence, and a strong financial and strategic mindset.


Responsibilities

  • Capacity Strategy & Utilization: Own and continuously refine the mobile capacity planning and utilization strategy, aligning with broader production plans across the Service Center and Mobile operations.
  • Mobile Execution Leadership: Partner with regional field leaders and Mobile Program teams to drive high performance, field adoption, and execution of new mobile initiatives.
  • Routing & Optimization: Lead the development and implementation of efficient mobile routing strategies to optimize technician time, improve service speed, and enhance the customer experience
  • Program Implementation & Feedback: Ensure smooth rollout of mobile programs and tools. Actively capture field feedback to drive iterative improvements, scale best practices, and inform future development.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a bridge between field service, logistics, software, and central planning teams. Influence strategy, align priorities, and ensure mobile operations are a core lever in business success.
  • Financial & Operational Impact: Understand and model how mobile decisions impact key financial metrics, including cost per service, utilization rates, gross margins, and overall operational efficiency.
  • Performance Metrics & Reporting: Drive mobile productivity KPIs, provide actionable performance reporting, and support strategic decisions with data-backed insights.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in field operations, service delivery, logistics, or fleet-based service programs
  • 3+ years of people or matrixed leadership experience, ideally across multiple sites or geographies
  • Strong operational leadership background with demonstrated experience optimizing productivity and performance
  • Deep understanding of service logistics, routing strategies, and capacity planning
  • Strong financial acumen; able to model and interpret the business impact of decisions
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience implementing and scaling new service models or programs in a growth environment
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-change environments and deliver results quickly

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's or MBA preferred
  • Experience in the EV, automotive, logistics, or field services industries
  • Background working with advanced routing software or service optimization tools
  • Proven ability to lead through influence in a matrixed organization

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants: $165k-$185k (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law). Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
