The Opportunity The Senior Total Rewards Manager will lead strategic and operational aspects of Ulteig's Total Rewards and Wellbeing programs. Reporting to the Director of HR & Business Services, and working closely with the HR team, you'll implement enterprise-wide compensation, benefits, and wellbeing strategies that support the total rewards philosophy to drive attraction and retention of talent across the United States, Canada, and Costa Rica. What You'll Do Business & Team Leadership
- Serve as the champion and leader for Ulteig's total rewards and well-being initiatives, ensuring alignment with our values and strategic goals.
- Develop and implement effective communication strategies to promote understanding and engagement with total rewards and wellbeing programs across all levels of the organization.
- Design and deliver comprehensive training programs to educate employees and managers on the benefits and utilization of total rewards and well-being offerings.
- Inspire team engagement through regular 1:1's, team meetings, recognition, development conversations/plans, learning opportunities, etc.
- Manage performance through goal setting, managing priorities, feedback gathering, quarterly check-ins, and annual reviews.
- Support planning and management of the Total Rewards budget.
Compensation
- Design, implement and administer competitive, performance-based compensation plans and programs, including base pay, incentive plans and bonuses that align with Ulteig's strategic goals.
- Partner with department leaders and HR Business Partners to support strategic compensation initiatives and rewards programs, providing customized compensation analysis, project leadership, and consulting to align pay programs with evolving team structures, business models, market dynamics and performance objectives.
- Develop and maintain a data-driven, competitive compensation framework that aligns with Ulteig's Total Rewards philosophy, supports talent acquisition and retention, and ensures market competitiveness across all levels of the organization.
- Advise and partner with business leaders and HR Business Partners on complex compensation issues, including internal equity, pay transparency, market competitiveness, and regulatory compliance, ensuring alignment with business strategy.
- Annually review and refine the compensation strategy including merit increase budgets, grade structure, classification of positions, and overall management and maintenance of job descriptions, ensuring consistency and scalability as the organization evolves.
- Manage ongoing competitive benchmarking survey process and ensure compensation philosophy and pay practices align with current company goals and objectives.
- Manage all compensation cycles, including annual merit increases, incentive payouts, and promotion planning, ensuring consistent, fair, and timely execution across the company.
- Oversee executive compensation programs, including short- and long-term incentive plans, in partnership with senior leadership and external advisors. Partner with CFO team to ensure proper annual budgets are established and incentive expense forecasts are completed, at least quarterly.
- Facilitate annual compensation policy and equity review, partnering with HR Business Partners to proactively identify and address opportunity areas.

This includes health, welfare, retirement, and voluntary benefits.
- Continually evaluate plan competitiveness, identify emerging market trends and employee preferences, and inform strategic decisions that enhance employee experience while managing cost-effectiveness and compliance.
- Manage relationships with benefits brokers and vendors including selection, RFP's, vendor changes and implementations.
- Lead benefit operations and administration including plan renewals, open enrollment, eligibility and various plan changes.
- Partner with CFO team to ensure proper annual budgets are established and support benefits expense forecasts.
- Develop and deliver effective communication strategies to inform and engage employees in Ulteig's benefits programs.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of current benefit offerings, providing strategic recommendations to senior leadership on plan enhancements, innovations, or cost-containment opportunities that align with business goals.
- Act as a liaison between the company and third-party benefit administrators.
Wellbeing and Other Key Activities
- Oversee the holistic Ulteig Wellbeing program, ensuring integration with the broader benefits strategy and alignment with organizational health, engagement, and productivity goals.
- Participate in merger and acquisition activities, contributing to due diligence, total rewards and compliance assessments, and the development of strategic compensation and benefits recommendations to support successful integration.
- Ensure compliance with local, state/provincial, and federal laws related to benefits, compensation, and wellbeing. Responsible for preparation and filing of required legal reports.
- Ensure effective implementation of efficient and optimized processes and systems, leveraging best practices and technology.

What We Expect from You
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field OR equivalent experience
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in compensation, benefits, or total rewards, including at least 3 years in a leadership position
- Proven track record of designing and implementing compensation structures, incentive programs, and benefits strategies aligned with business goals
- Experience managing annual compensation cycles, benefits renewals, open enrollment, and vendor relationships
- Deep understanding of compensation and benefits best practices, market trends, compliance, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., FLSA, ACA, ERISA)
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills; proficiency in Excel and compensation tools
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms (e.g., UKG) and data reporting tools
- Ability to interpret complex data, develop insights, and make data-driven recommendations
- Strong project management skills and the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills-able to influence and advise senior leaders and partner closely with HR Business Partners
- Experience creating and delivering clear employee communications related to total rewards
- Experience leading global total rewards preferred
- Must have permanent authorization to work in the US
