Position Responsibilities

Job Summary:Deltek is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Director of Data Strategy to drive the strategic vision of data management and utilization of trusted customer data across the organization to enable business outcomes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the data governance framework to identify and standardize critical customer data, fostering a culture of data collaboration, and enabling data literacy across the company. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in data strategy, customer journey operations, cross-functional business engagement, data quality processes and people change management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Data Workstreams:Oversee and manage data workstreams for company-wide business transformation programs. Align essential data to business processes and define the standards, policies, and user requirements to harmonize data assets and ensure the effective collection, storage, and utilization. Identify critical data assets and establish data quality processes for their management.

  • Data Collaboration and Culture:Set the framework for data collaboration and foster a culture of data-driven decision-making, innovation, and build a network of passionate data agents. Engage cross-functionally to ensure foundational data has common definitions and is leveraged effectively.

  • Decisioning Process:Develop and implement decision-making processes that are informed by data insights. Lead the data council and organize data steward sessions to ensure alignment and governance.

  • Data Literacy Enablement:Promote data literacy across the organization by providing training and resources to enhance employees' understanding and use of data, thereby increasing the value of data and business outcomes.

Key Achievements:

  • Raise the visibility of data as a corporate asset and foundation to enable business transformation and innovation, to make it easier for employees to deliver exceptional customer experiences and growth

  • Successfully lead the ongoing harmonization and migration/conversion of customer data, eliminating redundant or duplicative data, and simplify data user experiences within business applications and tools

  • Transform legacy data operational processes across the enterprise to automate manual and administrative tasks, alleviating business and system constraints, and enable ease of data access to create insights.

  • Drive cross-functional data workstreams in strategic initiatives to support scalable business growth, with a focus on change management and delivering positive customer experience.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in leading data strategy and management initiatives within the technology and/or software industry, with a focus on improving foundational customer and product data standards, and data utilization within a large organization (5,000+ employees).
  • Business operations leadership experience in customer processes, back-office finance processes, and managing enterprise-wide transformation programs.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and data architecture.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in driving change management and fostering a data-driven culture.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with customer journey management, data governance facilitation, and business transformation.
  • Experience managing a global and cross-functional team.
  • Strong background in business process analysis and transformational change leadership.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to foster a culture of data-driven decision-making and collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with data management tools, CRM/ERP systems, and EDW data intelligence platforms
  • Experience in SaaS technology B2B companies
  • Experience in software development and design, particularly in roles related to business process analysis and transformational change.
  • Degree in business administration, marketing, operations, information systems or a related field
  • 10-15+ years professional experience, of increasing responsibility with direct leadership management
