Job Description

SUMMARY

To accurately mark castings to the customers specifications using the technique card instructions and defined marking methods. Support the goals and service levels of PCC Structurals, Inc. with timely throughput.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Inspection and Verification
    1. Objective
      1. To mark parts legibly and accurately using these marking methods; Vibropeen marking, Chem. Etch marking, Steel stamping, Bag & tag, Dotpeen marking. All 3 models and rubber stamping.
    2. Typical Activities
      1. Verifies router to part serial number and then applies all markings via the specified method to the castings, in the location defined in Technique Card.
      2. Extracts from computer, computer issued serialization numbers for various customers.
      3. Performs a basic visual inspection & notifies Quality when there is a finding.
      4. Reads Tech. Card and follows instructions to mark part accurately.
      5. Marks parts accurately, neatly & efficiently.
      6. Documents detail onto part log sheets for completed marking.
      7. Off loads trucks, loads trucks, hoist operation, forklift certification and pallet jack operation.
      8. Assists with monthly physical inventories.
      9. Daily supports the 5S and Safety Initiatives and keeps work area clean and swept daily.
      10. Communicates & interacts with Schedulers, Quality Management & customers.
      11. Ability to work with minimal supervision and under daily pressure and time constraints.
      12. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
      13. Ability to work up to 13 hours mandatory overtime the last week of each month, including Saturday & Sundays for meeting the Divisions goals with non-standard hours.
      14. Adheres to all guidelines, SOP's, QS, QCM & QCI's as they apply to product marking.
      15. Filing, typing, microfilm prep, archiving and other tasks as assigned.
      16. Must be able to lift & maneuver objects weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally to seventy-five pounds.
      17. Ability to work productively in conditions of temperature extremes, awkward physical positions in difficult conditions exposed to noise, dust, and the essence of McFarlands.
      18. Upgrade dotpeen computerized marking fields for part marking.
      19. Maintain marking supplies in good working order & advise when marking supplies are low or replacements purchased.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Read, write, follow instructions, and communicate clearly in verbal and written languages.
  • Type a minimum of 40 wpm, filing and organizing.
  • Write & block print with neat clear letters & numbers. Engrave with legible neat markings.
  • Read diagrams & drawings on Technique Cards for locating marking destinations.
  • Attend to detailed information with exact execution.
  • 30 correctable vision.
  • Computer skills in PC use and keyboarding.
