I. DEPARTMENT INFORMATION


Job Description Summary:
The Department of Health Policy and Management seeks a full-time Research Assistant to support Hospital and Health System Readiness for Equity-QI Integration, a study of California hospitals and health systems around operational issues in the collection, use and integration of REAL data into efforts to close gaps in quality metrics. Funded by the California Health Care Foundation, the study involves the design, development, fielding and analyses of quantitative (and potentially qualitative) data, including development of a project report and creation of highly usable graphic depictions of survey findings and key takeaways.
This position will support two principal activities.

  • Assistance with the recruitment of participants, including helping to manage email and other survey solicitations, monitoring survey completion rates, identifying additional potential subjects who meet eligibility criteria for the survey, and other activities associated with yielding a sufficient and representative sample of participants.
  • Assistance with identifying the appropriate survey platform, becoming very familiar with the platform, managing the use of the platform as the survey vehicle.
  • Upload participant information in the platform, and monitoring survey initiation and completion rates. This will require frequent communication and discussion with the study team.
  • In addition, the Research Assistant will perform routine research activities such as conducting literature reviews, searching hospital websites for relevant information and potential contacts, and other tasks as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a BA/BS in a related discipline. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.

  • Ability to meet key project deliverables
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Familiarity with Stata or other statistical software packages
  • Experience using Canva or other design software
  • Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with survey design and implementation
  • Prior experience with or study of issues related to language services, health care quality, disparities, or other related areas.

Hiring Range $17.75 - $27.01
