Job Summary

In this role, you will use 2-D/3-D computer-aided design (CAD) to develop designs for electrical engineering projects including earthwork, drainage, road design, and foundation. You will construct detailed scale models, develop work plans, and review drawings for quality, accuracy, and completion. Collaboration across disciplines will ensure compliance and quality in the overall project design.

This position is located in Ogden, UT, a vibrant city offering a unique blend of urban and outdoor lifestyles. Nestled against the backdrop of the Wasatch Mountains, Ogden provides a perfect setting for those who enjoy both city amenities and outdoor adventures.


Major Responsibilities

  • Develop designs for complete and complex electrical engineering systems with minimal supervision.
  • Assign tasks to optimize the knowledge, experience, and capabilities of less experienced team members when in a lead role.
  • Ensure compliance with approved electrical design standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Develop work plans, budgets, and schedules for electrical design tasks.
  • Generate high-complexity 2D drawings or 3D CAD design models with minimal guidance.


Education and Experience Requirements

  • Requires an AA/AS or Certificate in Engineering/CAD with 5-6 years of experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
  • Must be a United States citizen.
  • Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge & application of NEC code and NEMA/ANSI/IEEE Standards.
  • Experience with an electronic Cable Management System, such as the SETROUTE program.
  • Ability to collaborate well with other disciplines and handle multiple tasks.
  • Relevant experience includes drawings for electrical systems in nuclear or industrial process facilities, data centers, or complex building systems.
  • Proficiency in Smartplant 3D, SmartSketch, and AutoCAD.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Broad knowledge of electrical engineering design principles and Corporate guides and standards.
  • Ability to resolve design issues independently and collaboratively.
  • Previous DoD/DoE, USACE, NAVFAC, USAF, or NASA project experience is preferred.
