The distribution technician plays a vital role in supporting the logistics and supply chain operations at Salem Health, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of medical supplies and equipment to various departments. This position requires strong organizational and technical skills to manage inventory, process orders, and maintain a safe and efficient distribution environment. By working closely with the distribution team, the distribution technician contributes to the smooth operation of hospital services. What you'll doManage inventory in and out, ensuring accurate issuance and crediting of supplies. Operate department inventory computer system and hospital EMR system. Take PAR level orders using handheld devices and deliver orders to designated locations. Maintain organized and efficient supply storage areas. Receive and process incoming freight, generating delivery documents as needed. Restock and deliver equipment and procedure carts. Sort and stage incoming and outgoing mail. Provide phone support, handling multiple calls while maintaining proper etiquette. Assist in training new staff and staying up-to-date on process changes and new procedures. Prioritize workload to ensure efficiency and accuracy, following backup plans for system or hospital downtime.
