Moog's Military Aircraft Group (MAG) is a world-wide leader of advanced flight controls and actuation for military aircraft. We are positioned on virtually every aircraft flying today, supplying highly reliable systems that are supportable and add significant value for our customers.

Our team in Military Aircraft is looking for a Finance Director - Military OE and Sustainment to join them. This role is located in East Aurora, New York and reports to the Group Vice President - Finance, Military Aircraft. The Finance Director will join a dynamic Global Finance Team of over 300 accounting and finance professionals. Our mission as a Finance organization is to influence optimal business outcomes. We truly embrace the Business Partnering mindset and leverage process consistency and new technologies to simplify our standard work so that we can free up more time to work alongside the Business.

As a Finance Director - Military OE and Sustainment you will be part of the Military OE Leadership team and responsible for:

  • Finance business partnership - enable the development and execution of division strategy through robust financial modeling and sound tactical and strategic decision support

  • Leading the finance team responsible for end-to-end financial accountability including full divisional and site production P&L (close, forecast, budget, expense management)

    • Sales, gross margin, and operating margin forecasting

    • Capital investment planning, coordination, tracking and ROI analysis

    • Internal and external audit support

  • Annual and Long-Range budgeting and quarterly forecasting

  • Active participation in major proposal activities - cost analysis, pricing & negotiation

  • Support capacity planning and analysis (short-term and long-term) - including make vs buy decisions

  • Enhancing governance to enable leadership to reduce production product cost, optimize inventory and net working capital, and improve free cash flow

  • Leading Integrated Business Planning (IBP) reconciliation at the division level and drive strong alignment in accountability between operational drivers and financial outcomes

  • Managing, recruiting, coaching, and developing direct reports

  • Actively advocating for continuous improvement, efficiency, and means to increase value to internal/external customers

To be considered for this role, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. MBA/CPA is a plus but not required.

  • Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, operations management, or supply chain. Similar industry preferred but not required.

  • Demonstrated experience influencing others and/or leading and developing direct reports.

  • Demonstrated ability to advise and influence cross functional business stakeholders, including site and division leadership team.

  • Strategic mindset, ability to see big picture opportunities and proactively address with MAG leadership team.

  • Comfort with ambiguity and driving new processes to address business opportunities.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, and with external constituencies.

  • Demonstrated ability to achieve performance and results through the managing of people and teams by setting expectations, creating a culture of accountability, and providing timely coaching.

  • Ability to relocate to East Aurora, New York and be present on-site.

It would be great if you also had:

  • Manufacturing and/or aerospace industry experience highly preferred

  • SAP experience and/or knowledge of ERP business systems

  • Experience with Integrated Business Planning (IBP)

  • Experience with Product Cost Analysis and Purchase Price Variance (PPV)

  • Experience with long term accounting and/or government finance

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $200,000.00-$270,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
