Spectra Tech, LLC, is currently looking for a Security Technician III (Work Lead) to work on a government project at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Aberdeen, Maryland. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Security Technician III (Work Lead) role is full-time and onsite at Aberdeen Proving Ground.


Responsibilities



  • Oversees and coordinates actions of the ATC Visitor Center and Gate 13 Technicians
  • Responsible for visitor control center operation and execution of visit and access control badging operation
  • Controls workflow and actions of one Full-Time Technician II and one Part-Time Technician II along with operating the Visitor Control Center with two Full-Time Technicians I operating Gate 13
  • Ensures all Technician I at Gate 13 Guards and Visitor Control Technicians II are trained in access control and the visitor control database
  • Perform all tasks of the Technician I (Gate 13 Guards) & II (Visitor Control Technicians) and must be prepared to augment Visitor Control mission as required by customer flow and access control at Gate 13, Gate 24, Post 10 and Gate 25
  • Assign tasks, develop schedules, and be responsible for Tech I and II deliverables
  • Coordinates directly with the S2 Deputy Chief of Security or designee for training, system maintenance, workflow, schedules, and other related priorities
  • Responsible for daily checks on Technicians working at Gate 13
  • Report personnel issues and equipment fault of system malfunction to the S2 Deputy Chief of Security or respective designee
  • Serves as primary for processing computer access requests via Track It on a daily basis
  • Responsible for opening the Visitor Control Center each duty day starting at 6:30 a.m.
  • Supports Visitor Access until closing of the Visitor Desk at 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 3:00 p.m. on Friday
  • Responsible for ensuring there are adequate badging supplies on hand and notify the ATC Personnel Security Specialist in writing on the last working day of the month when supplies are getting low sooner, if warranted
  • Develop and update current access control SOP/IOPS
  • Develop and update guard orders for on-call range support guards
  • Responsible for ensuring all access control equipment, computers, badge printers, etc. are inventoried monthly and provide an inventory report in writing to the S2 Deputy Chief of Security by the last working day of the month.
  • Develop and update guard orders for Gate 13 and any other security gates entering into the ATC Restricted Area (RA)
  • Provide all access control statistics as defined by the Government on a monthly basis or more frequently if directed by the Government



Required Qualifications



  • U.S. Citizenship is required per contract to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Secret Clearance
  • Associate's Degree in a security related discipline (e.g. Security Operations, Security Engineering, Security Management, Criminal Justice, and Intelligence) or equivalent work experience in a security environment
  • Five years demonstrated work experience as a team lead, supervisor, or manager
  • Background in security operations or related field
  • Expertise in office software like Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel required
  • In-depth knowledge of performance metrics, solid computer skills
  • Strong leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of access control systems and procedures required
  • Proficient in problem-solving, identifying issues, analyzing situations, and developing solutions required
  • Understanding of access control systems, security protocols, and procedures for managing visitor access is essential
  • A strong of access control specific software and technical processes required
  • Experience with security protocols, and the ability to manage a team while ensuring compliance with security regulations
  • Thorough understanding of access control systems, including hardware (card readers, etc.) and software (access control management platforms)
  • Ability to motivate and delegate tasks to a team of access control and security support staff
  • Effective delegation and task management skills are a must
  • Conflict resolution and ability to handle difficult situations required
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, written and verbal interaction with stakeholders at all levels (management, customers, team members, etc.) to convey information clearly and facilitate collaboration
  • Both verbal and written communication are crucial for interacting with visitors, verifying identities, and explaining access procedures clearly
  • Ability to think critically and make informed decisions
  • Adaptability such as keeping up with evolving technologies and security threats in the access control field required
  • Proven experience managing timelines and priorities required
