Advanced Manufacturing Technician

The Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Technician at Itron will support engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry or specialized test equipment. Applications may include analog, digital, RF circuits, and logic systems. The ideal candidate will works with schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and troubleshooting functions. Other tasks include performing operational tests and fault isolation on systems and equipment, assisting in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions, assisting in the design, construction, test and checkout of test equipment and using manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to: test programs, oscilloscopes, signal generators, voltmeters and specialized test apparatus.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate and assemble manufacturing systems and equipment
  • Support test system development and implementation.
  • Execute for manufacturing system qualification testing and analysis.
  • Complete prototype builds/modifications, parts qualification.
  • Drive improvements in process development procedures and methods
  • Capable of using fabrication tools to assemble systems and equipment.
  • Collect and interpret process and test data.
  • Solder surface mount and other components within IPC specifications.
  • Interpret, implement, and update schematics and prints.
  • Execute, analyze, and modify mechanical and electrical preventive maintenance routines.
  • Stay aware of manufacturing technology trends.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and be mindful of influence on co-workers.
  • Maintain communication with supervisors and support staff regarding the status and capabilities of the equipment.
  • Demonstrate leadership and initiative towards meeting company objectives.
  • Train self and mentor others on production equipment.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Associate's degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of related technician experience.
