Lee Health is looking for a dedicated Insurance Services Specialist to be the first point of access for our patientsdelivering excellence and compassion with every interaction.

As an Insurance Services Specialist, you'll be on the frontlines of patient accessensuring insurance verification, authorizations, and financial screenings are completed quickly and accurately. Your work will directly impact our ability to secure the maximum reimbursement and provide a seamless experience for every patient.

• Complete and assist with insurance verification and authorizations

• Conduct financial screenings and secure proper documentation

• Utilize analytical skills and computer systems (including Epic EMR)

• Deliver exceptional service via phone and digital communication

• Prioritize tasks in high-volume work queues

• Navigate and interpret complex insurance and healthcare data

• Understand and apply medical terminology relevant to authorizations

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required)

• Experience in:

  • Clerical/Administrative (Required)

  • Healthcare Insurance (Required)

  • Epic EMR System (Preferred)

  • Customer Service (Preferred)

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong attention to detail, flexibility, and time management

• Advanced computer literacy and analytical thinking

• Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team

As the first point of access for Lee Health patients, this position completes and assists with Insurance Verification, authorizations, and financial screening to secure maximum reimbursement for the Lee Health System. It also requires excellent verbal, analytical and customer service skills due to the varying methods of continuous communication that occurs telephonically. Requires extensive computer knowledge and analytical experience to navigate and interpret the information provided by a multitude of entities. Requires prioritization, detail orientation, organized, flexible while working within high volume work queues. This job requires the ability to understand medical terminology pertinent to obtaining the authorizations needed for services.

Requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, IT/computer proficient, basic math skills, knowledge of insurance verification and medical billing helpful.
