Role Summary

The Laboratory Technician will perform analytical testing following established procedures providing accurate testing results in a timely fashion. The Laboratory Technician will learn new testing procedures as required, generally under the supervision a chemist or scientist. The Laboratory Technician will troubleshoot and modify some test procedures as required. Will have the ability to learn techniques of varying complexity and be able to draw technical conclusions and write concise summary reports.

Role Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Must possess good hands-on laboratory technique
  • Must be able to learn and independently carry out written test procedures in a timely fashion
  • Generate and report accurate results
  • Experience with Analytical Chemistry instrumentation is required
  • Applying past knowledge and experience in the diagnosis of instrumental or procedural problems as required
  • Follow written method validation protocols
  • Keep detailed, up-to-date laboratory notebook in accordance with C&D policy

Education and Experience

  • AA or BS in science-related discipline or pertinent work experience
  • 3-5 years' experience in lab environment preferred, especially with analytical instrumentation
  • Some experience in analytical problem-solving
  • Knowledge of good laboratory practices

Skills and Competencies

  • Must possess good, hands-on analytical laboratory skills
  • Ability to learn new analytical procedures
  • Must be able to maintain a laboratory notebook, record and report accurate results
  • Good interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills required
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects
  • Must be able to work safely in a lab environment

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $59,800 - $93,500. This position is also eligible for a bonus.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay parity. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
