Your Opportunity as a Kitting Production Supervisor

The Kitting Production Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the daily workload is released in accordance with company standards while providing analysis to impact business decisions. This position will work to coordinate the daily workload and plan work release to the floor.

Location: 30800 W. 207th Street, Edgerton, KS 66021 (Hostess Distribution Center)

Work Arrangements: 100% on-site, Day Shift Mon-Fri 3pm-12:30am (flexibility required)

In this role you will:

  • Review available staffing and work assignments while updating Daily Staffing Sheet in a timely manner

  • Walk assigned area and identify available equipment and any safety needs

  • Review staffing assignments for production lines in the department

  • Actively participate in shift start-ups bringing pertinent information to the team highlighting the current safety topics, accomplishments, and other announcements

  • Verify labor needs vs. daily schedule provided by production scheduler

  • Plan and continuously monitor departmental operation throughout the shift to ensure that all work requirements and customer needs are being met.

  • Responsible for instilling the Smucker culture through the Basic Beliefs and Our Commitment to Each Other.

  • Provide performance-based feedback to direct reports through monitoring of individual performances and job assignments.

  • Drive and implement the business plan to achieve or exceed goals.

  • Implement Lean principles to drive operational improvements.

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with company quality and safety standards, policies, procedures and directives.

  • Prepare, review, analyze and present business reports and updates to identify operational improvements in production, quality, and safety.

  • Assist in staffing and training of assigned associates.

  • Assist in scheduling and movement of labor in the facility in order to achieve company objectives.

  • Ensure that all equipment is maintained and compliant with company policies.

  • Demonstrate and promote a solution based positive attitude in meeting goals and objectives.

  • Translate complex information into easily understandable messages to facilitate clear communication and expectations across all levels of the organization.

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree is required

  • 1 year of supervisory experience in a warehouse/distribution environment

  • 1 year of previous inventory management experience

  • Strong computer skills

Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:

  • Food manufacturing/distribution experience is desired

  • Strong communication skills

  • Experience in Blue Yonder, Oracle and IMI systems is a plus.

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule that most effectively supports the organization.

  • Willingness to work off-shifts as needed.

Work Environment: This job operates in a warehouse environment. The noise level in the work environment sites can be high.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to talk and hear.

  • Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

  • Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

  • Able to lift objects up to 50 pounds frequently.

  • May push and pull heavy trash carts, and portable equipment

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
