TITLE: Corporate Safety Manager POSITION OBJECTIVE: To establish, implement, and maintain a comprehensive safety program for Inteplast Group that ensures a safe, healthy, and compliant environment for all employees, contractors, supply chain partners and visitors. This position shall implement and maintain ALL safety-related initiatives and ensure adherence to corporate policies as well as state, and federal health and safety regulations, and the well-being of all those who interact within our Group. QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related discipline strongly preferred
- Minimum 5 years in large-scale commercial, governmental, or industrial/manufacturing environments, including at least 4 years supervisory or managerial level safety role
- Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, OSHA, 30-hour General Industry, and relevant industry safety standards.
- Minimum of five years' experience in safety supervision or management, with demonstrated expertise in: OSHA standards and regulations in the manufacturing industry. Texas Workers' Compensation Commission standards and guidelines. Familiarity with state and federal regulatory agencies (EPA, Texas Railroad Commission, State and Local Fire regulations).
- Position requires strong leadership and managerial capabilities, with the ability to supervise and mentor safety personnel across multiple sites or departments.
- Excellent written communication skills; must be proficient at writing safety procedures, internal memos, and creating reports to upper management. Additionally, the manager serves as the primary communicator to the Group on all thing's safety.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence employees at all levels of the organization to drive all safety initiatives.
- Good supervisory skills, with proven track record of achieving safety goals and holding teams accountable for results.
- Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
- Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for assisting the safety department in designing and implementing an effective accident prevention program.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with the plant safety program and all established rules and regulations of local, state, and federal agencies and the enforcement of all company safety rules and procedures.
- Responsible for the training of all Inteplast employees in the plant safety program and company rules to provide a safe working environment. Training would be the basic required training (not plant/assignment specific training)
- Lead the safety department in developing an analysis program to include the review of the entire safety program and procedures, review and analysis of audits and inspections reports, review of education and training programs and record keeping.
- Responsible for the reports and follow-up activities of related safety council meetings, and the compliance of all required record-keeping.
- Responsible for awareness in any changes occurring within the facility that may affect the plant's safety program to include changes in:
- Process chemicals
- Technology
- Equipment
- Procedures
- Oversee and investigate any/all OSHA complaints/citations
- Implement new safety programs so that there is renewed content in the Group's safety program.
- Oversee the audit/inspection program that occurs as Corporate Safety audits all locations.
- Develop staff and verify that staff is adequately trained.
- Oversee the training initiatives of Corporate Safety.
- Oversee and facilitate safety events such as Safe and Sound Week, Forklift Safety event, etc.
- Stay current with all regulations validating that the Group is following all requirements in safety.
- Work with all Group locations on safety related concerns/issues.
- Oversee monthly Group safety data collection and reporting.

- Conducts safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective action, and implement follow up assessments.
- Plans, implements, and conducts preventative care, safety, and compliance training programs.
- Plans, implements, manages, and maintains comprehensive environmental safety & health programs on premises or at project site locations.
- Provides project management team with guidance on health and safety and confirm project site fulfills industry, local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations.
- Collaborates with management to develop an Emergency Action Plan and serve as primary contact for project site injury and incident notification, investigation, and case management. Maintains a written log of safety inspection activities, reports, and correspondence.
- Guarantees that all work is performed in accordance with approved manuals, internal policies and procedures, contract documents, and good engineering practices.
- Provides technical support to project managers.
- Develops and maintains project cost/change controls, and project budget and accounting records.
- Coordinates and monitors schedule updates, invoices, and submittals.
- Reports the status of projects to management.
- Participates in team meetings and provides regular on-site project presence.
