The Senior Performance Analytics Analyst supports our Purpose by analyzing data from various sources to identify areas of opportunity for growth within Ground Operations. This role will identify improvements and lead related project teams to ensure key deliverables are met and enable proper planning and performance management. The Senior Performance Analytics Analyst is a strategic data storyteller who enjoys working in a dynamic environment to drive meaningful initiatives at Southwest.

Responsibilities
- Deliver analysis and solutions that illustrate a clear understanding of the business problem at hand as well as the broader impact across the Operational group and Company
- Pull, gather, and consolidate data to analyze, summarize and interpret insights to drive recommendations to the Team and Leaders
- Identify areas to improve operational performance and business processes through an understanding of Customer/process insights, assurance data, strategic needs, and risk management
- Keep informed regarding pending industry changes, trends, or best practices and evaluate how they will fit into the strategic vision of the Department or Company
- Lead projects and improvement efforts by defining objectives, structuring the work, directing Team members, developing recommendations, and implementing changes
- Assist with the execution of existing methodologies to evaluate Company processes, support planning decisions, engage Stakeholders, and deliver on project goals and requirements
- Utilize analytical tools such as Alteryx, SQL, Tableau, Power BI to gather large data sets and better frame the opportunity space
- Contribute to the furtherance of workshops/brainstorms during the design and discovery process of R&D
- Work cross-functionally with all Ground Operations groups to assist meeting short/long range goals
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Skilled in demonstrating an exceptional mastery of statistical and analytical techniques that arrive at fact based decision making
- Skilled in understanding and applying information to contribute to the organization's strategic plan
- Skilled in using logic and critical reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
- Ability to come up with unusual or clever ideas about a given topic or situation, or to develop creative ways to solve a problem
- Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted
- Ability to work well with people at all levels of the organization
- Ability to use various methodologies and high level statistical concepts to discover new insights on traditional metrics
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
- Advanced level-experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:
- Computer sciences and data analysis
- Utilizing analytical platforms (Alteryx, Structured query language SQL and Tableau)
- Preferred: Operational experience
- Preferred: Data analytics experience
- Preferred: Relational database knowledge
- Preferred: Microsft PowerPoint and Excel experience
Physical Abilities
- Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Pay & Benefits: Competitive market salary from $95,750 per year to $106,400 per year* depending on qualifications and experience, with opportunity for future pay increases based on performance and market movement.
