Netsmart is seeking a Senior Data Engineer with expertise in Big Data and advanced ETL development. This role will focus on building and optimizing complex data pipelines using SSIS and SQL, while also leveraging cloud-native technologies such as AWS Glue and Spark. The Senior Data Engineer will ensure accurate, timely, and automated data collection to power analytics and automation tools, while driving scalability and process improvements. Strong experience with Python or Scala is preferred, along with the ability to evaluate and implement emerging data solutions that enhance data integration, governance, and delivery.

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for maintaining smooth operations of large-scale data automation environments, ensuring data accuracy, and enabling downstream analytics and automation tools. This position requires both hands-on technical ability and the vision to recommend and implement emerging technologies that enhance data integration, governance, and delivery.

RESPONSIBIITIES

  • Design, implement, and optimize complex data pipelines using advanced SQL, ETL tools, and integration technologies.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement optimal data solutions for advanced analytics and data science initiatives.

  • Spearhead process improvements, including automation, data delivery optimization, and infrastructure redesign for scalability.

  • Evaluate and recommend emerging data technologies to build comprehensive data integration strategies.

  • Lead technical discovery processes, defining complex requirements and mapping out detailed scenarios.

  • Develop and maintain data governance policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience

  • Experience and expert-level SQL knowledge, preferably with SSIS SQL Server Integration Services

  • At least 5 years of experience in a Data Engineering or related roles.

  • Deep understanding of data modeling techniques and enterprise-grade ETL tools. Informatica or other data tool experience is fine

  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex analytical problems

Preferred

  • Experience in the healthcare industry, including clinical, financial, and operational data

  • Extensive experience with big data technologies (Hadoop ecosystem, Spark, Kafka) and cloud-based environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP)

  • Advanced proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Scala)

  • Knowledge of machine learning and AI technologies and their data requirements

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and real-time data processing

  • Understanding of data privacy regulations and experience implementing compliant solutions
