Job Summary:

The Production Engineering Manager is responsible for providing technical and production support, as well as driving process and product development and optimization for Aerospace and Industrial gas turbine systems. This role is crucial for New Product Introduction (NPI), Repair, and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) businesses. The position involves a balanced split between process engineering and supervisory responsibilities, overseeing a team of 10 Engineers and Toolmakers. The candidate will manage the engineering team at the site and perform process engineering duties within their area of expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership:



  • Drive growth and lead projects for process/yield improvement and rework reduction.
  • Model professional behaviors and personal accountability, reflecting Chromalloy Values and Continuous Improvement Culture.
  • Set project priorities aligned with company goals.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering team, leveraging best practices and initiatives.
  • Provide a leadership role, coaching and mentoring within the team, closing skills/knowledge gaps identified within the project team


Product/Process Development:



  • Engage in technical discussions to ensure products/processes meet customer needs.
  • Monitor team productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness using management tools.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing operations for effective project implementation.
  • Champion Capital Expenditure projects from need identification to implementation.
  • Integrate new products/processes to drive business improvements.
  • Coordinate resources to ensure timely and budget-friendly project completion.


Process Optimization:



  • Continuously review and enhance processes related to projects or assigned areas.
  • Promote Operational Excellence using robust problem-solving methodologies and Continuous Improvement (CI) tools.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment by enforcing 5S principles.
  • Ensure compliance with Company IPM/QPM and ISO-9000 quality standards.



Education & Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Materials Engineering
  • 5+ years of Engineering experience in manufacturing environment; ISO-9000 experience is preferred.
  • Leadership experience with progressively increasing responsibility and results.
  • Senior technical team member experience in developing technical solutions for product development and production support.
  • Proven ability to lead and deliver projects while effectively interfacing with stakeholders and other functions within a matrix organizational structure.
  • Experience in process design, best practices, and technology projects.
  • Proven problem-solving skills for complex technical and production issues.
  • Proactive mindset to identify project risks and constraints and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Capability to develop and monitor project budgets, resource needs, and timelines.
