Sales Manager for WI, Northern IL and MN territory. Mostly remote, 50% travel. Excellent benefits, employee owned company. JOB PURPOSE: Drive the proactive execution of the company's sales prospecting program through aggressive leadership, data analysis, and the use of CRM and AI-based hunting tools. Responsible for building a highly targeted prospecting pipeline, ensuring sales team accountability, and achieving budgeted growth goals through structured and measurable sales activities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Description of Tasks and Responsibilities:
- 1. Lead the Sales Prospecting Program: Own and execute a structured, proactive prospecting strategy utilizing CRM, AI-driven prospecting tools (e.g., ZoomInfo), vendor leads, website inquiries, and self generated targets.
- 2. Strategic Account Hunting: Proactively identify, pursue, and develop large strategic OEM accounts, while delegating account maintenance or secondary activities to the sales team as needed to maximize focus on new business growth and high-value targets.
- 3. Assign and Manage Leads: Distribute incoming leads through CRM to the appropriate Technical Sales Representatives and monitor conversion rates.
- 4. CRM Management: Oversee full-cycle CRM utilization, ensuring all customer interactions are captured, measured, and leveraged to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.
- 5. Drive Sales Activity and Accountability: Monitor individual and team prospecting goals weekly, monthly, and quarterly. Hold structured sales meetings to review performance, address gaps, and deploy corrective action plans with the Director of Sales and President as needed.
- 6. Data-Driven Analysis: Analyze sales performance metrics and pipeline data to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities, providing tactical direction based on findings.
- 7. Aggressive Business Development: Foster a high-activity, hunter-focused culture by motivating and training the sales team to develop new accounts aggressively and consistently.
- 8. Sales Coaching and Development: Train, mentor, and support sales team members on best practices in prospecting, customer engagement, quoting, closing, and CRM usage.
- 9. Customer Engagement: Personally engage with key prospects and accounts as necessary to support the sales process, including creating custom proposals and conducting onsite presentations.
- 10. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate internal company resources to support engineered system projects, drive service excellence, and close opportunities.
- 11. Sales Reporting: Maintain detailed and up-to-date activity logs and opportunity pipelines within CRM, providing regular reporting and insights to executive leadership.
- 12. Participate in Company Initiatives: Support additional company-wide growth initiatives, marketing campaigns, or strategic projects as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- * Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or two to four years of prior technical sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- * Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
- * Proficient with CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and ERP systems. Working knowledge of AI-based prospecting tools (ZoomInfo, Apollo.io, or similar platforms).
