How You Will Contribute:
As a Program Manager (PM), you will report to the Director of Delivery and Process Management and assist the Innovation and Technology Solutions (ITS) team with project management, reporting, and business operations-related activities.
In this capacity, you will work cross-functionally with the ITS, Service Finance, S3 Services Sales, Partners, Account, and Regional Franchise teams.
Core Responsibilities:
- As a Program Manager, you will be responsible for managing end-customer (client) and internal technical telecommunications programs and projects throughout their life cycle.
- Responsible for working with peers, project managers, scrum masters, product owners, sponsors, delivery team members, and stakeholders for the successful delivery of Ciena products and services.
- Single point of contact for the assigned domains, manages intakes, level of effort, Pre-Sales activities, dependencies, and risk.
- Create and manage delivery plans. Responsible for providing actionable reporting for the team, project, and program level deliverables.
- Responsible for managing project/release scope, timeline, financials, roadmap, resource allocation, and utilization.
- Establishes early client recognition of specifications, conditions, progress, and issues.
- Uncovers and assimilates changing client needs and constraints, innovates alternative strategies, structures an appropriate response, and gains client buy-in.
- Ensures continuing feasibility, scope, and definition of deliverables, and, where necessary, puts appropriate stages into the solution delivery.
- Maintains and tracks project costings, adherence to statements of work in accordance with account strategy and contract requirements.
- Serves as the senior engagement escalation point to ensure high levels of quality and client satisfaction.
- Works closely with Solutions Architects and Analysts regarding feasibility, timescale assessment, and solution suitability to meet use cases and general requirements as efficaciously and efficiently as possible.
- Develops deep relationships internally and externally, ensuring sustained investment through strong client partnerships.
- Maintains knowledge of available solutions and best practices for Ciena and industry processes.
- Provide other operational support as required.
The Must-Haves: Bachelor's or Master's in telecommunications or computer and information science 3+ years of Program Manager experience or 7+ years of Project Manager experience in the related field. PMP Certification preferred. Assets:
- Technically competent in the broadest range of networking technologies, OSS, data analysis, process, and IT systems
- Expert in the delivery management of data analytical solutions, systems integration, software development, process mapping, and workflow automation projects.
- Excellence in all aspects of communications and customer dialogue, and enhances the perception of Ciena, and the breadth and relevance of its capabilities to every client.
- Excellent working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products for program and project management, Smartsheet, Jira, and Confluence.
- Commercial and contractual experience, with proven written contract skills.
- Excellent, engaging, and persuasive visual and written communications materials
- Structures and plans communication (verbal and written) to influence and persuade according to the audience, from junior to C-level.
#LI-BS1 Pay Range: The annual pay range for this position is $88,600 - $141,500
Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available. Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
