Position Title: Design and Communications Intern Business Unit or Department: Marketing Position Reports to: Sr. Manager, Brand & Marketing Operations Classification: Seasonal # of Direct Reports: 0 # of Indirect Reports: 0 Wage Range: $20-21/hour Hybrid work: 16 hours in-office at Crystal Mountain Resort, 2-days per week (Tuesday & Thursday). POSITION SUMMARY The Design and Communications Intern will contribute to the ideation and design of compelling content and deliverables to help create an omni-channel experience across all marketing channels and departments at Crystal Mountain Ski Resort. The primary focus will be on assisting the marketing department with content creation and administrative functions. This position will work collaboratively with colleagues within the Marketing and Communications Department as well as cross functional departments across the resort (Food & Beverage, Rentals, Retail, etc.). This role's primary function is to provide graphic design services and deliver content solutions in digital and physical mediums to support marketing and communications objectives at Crystal Mountain Ski Resort. ESSENTIAL DUTIES * Contribute to the ideation and creation of innovative content and design deliverables that resonate with target audiences and align with the company's strategic goals. * Help develop omni-channel experiences that bridge design and communication. * Creative projects could include: Ideation and creation of mood boards & graphics for Crystal Mountain Outfitters clothing and merchandise, work with communications to help develop a new email newsletter look and function, assisting on photo shoots for ad and social assets, design of 25/26 passes, resort signage and other projects. * Administrative tasks could include: Transferring and organizing assets into a new content management system, digitizing print photos, and other projects as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS * Experience and understanding of Adobe Creative Cloud applications, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. * Knowledge of social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram), and ability to quickly master applications such as Asana. * Operates various graphic design equipment such as graphic computers, cameras and printing equipment. * Understanding of brand guidelines for both corporate and online practices. * Continually assess work, be open to feedback and ongoing optimization. * Willing to learn about marketing practices and principles * Evidence of effective communication skills. * Experience in establishing and maintaining effective relationships with direct team and cross functional departments. * Demonstrate a growth mindset and be open to feedback and daily optimization. * Ability to work in a dynamic environment with modest supervision. * Ability to work under deadline pressure and handle many projects at once. * Problem-solving skills a must. * Ability to think creatively while aligning brand and company goals. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE * Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in graphic design, marketing, communications, or related field. * A creative portfolio with a selection of work for consideration will be requested in the first round of the screening and interview process.
