Printpack, a leader in flexible packaging manufacturing, is in search of an Extrusion Manager in the Grand Prairie, Tx Converting plant. This position will report to the Plant Manager.

The Extrusion Manager will oversee Extrusion, Lamination and Re-seal It processes, including the development, planning, and execution of strategies, as well as metrics to track improvements. Key areas of focus are safety, quality, and initiatives to save costs, reduce/eliminate waste, reduce product defects, and improve customer satisfaction.

The qualified candidate will have knowledge and experience in the activities of lean manufacturing, to include analyzing processes and procedures, developing process enhancement strategies, investigating shortfalls and issues, and researching complaints in current business processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leadership: Ability to lead and inspire teams to embrace a culture of safety, quality and process improvement.
  • Accountability: Hold teams accountable.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, identify inefficiencies, and develop data-driven solutions.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills to lead the production departments during improvement initiatives, including tests, trials and implementation.
  • Communication: Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey improvement strategies throughout the departments.
  • Change Management: Experience in driving and managing change within an organization.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant industry technologies and tools.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address complex challenges.
  • Training and Coaching: Strong ability to train, coach, and mentor the team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in business administration, process management, operations, industrial engineering, engineering, or engineering management.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in process optimization, operations, or business management.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Continuous Improvement Process, Kaizen, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Advanced skills in the use of data management tools to monitor progress toward goals, certifications related to lean manufacturing.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & TRAVEL:
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb stairs and ladders, and work on elevated platforms. Manager must be willing to wear personal protective equipment including but not limited to protective eyewear, steel-toed shoes, and hearing protection. Must be able to work on the production floor at production machines when needed for process improvement events. Must be able to work on a computer and utilize tools for virtual meetings as needed.
  • Travel Requirements: This position will not be expected to travel regularly; however, occasional travel to other locations is needed, typically 1-4 times per year.
WORK CONDITIONS:
  • This position will work in an office. However, the role will necessitate significant time on the factory floors and warehouses.
  • The primary responsibilities would be Monday through Friday during normal business hours, but could include weekends and nights if needed for an improvement project.
