Essential Duties

  • Service, Operates, Maintains and Troubleshoots more complex Chillers (air - cooled chillers, centrifugal chillers, water - cooled chillers) systems. Abilitity to do full teardown.
  • Manages work processes for large projects, conducts disassembly and reassembly of commercial equipment for troubleshooting and maintenance. Skilled in operating hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
  • Completes service contracts, quoted projects and demand service calls as directed. Develops long-term relationships with customers and explains work performed to the customer's satisfaction.
  • Capable of delivering effective customer solutions and communicating project updates to all stakeholders.
  • Engages in on-call technician rotations as per business unit policies and procedures.
  • Purchases materials and issues purchase order numbers to suppliers.
  • Safely operates motor vehicles and trailers as evidenced by past driving performance record.
  • Meets requirements of fleet safety and driving policy and adheres to all company safety requirements.
  • Maintains equipment, tools, and inventory stock on service vehicle.
  • Able to work effectively with app-based software.


Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of 7+ years of relevant HVAC Service experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in service processes, techniques, and codes is essential.
  • Familiarity with brand-specific controls including Siemens, Johnson Controls, and Distec.
  • Proficient in reading complex schematics and prints
  • Able to perform as a self-managed individual
  • Must be able to display a professional demeanor, solid interpersonal skills with good written and oral communication capabilities.
  • Required:
    • HVAC Skills Summary:

      • Unitary Systems: Experienced with split systems (all brands, up to 120 tons), mini-splits (up to 3 tons, heat pump, multi-zone), VRV heat pump/recovery systems, rooftop units (all brands, up to 150+ tons), water-source heat pumps (up to 120 tons), self-contained (air- & water-cooled), and CRAC units (Liebert, Data Aire, Stulz).

      • Chiller Systems: Proficient with air-cooled (scroll, reciprocating, screw, VFD screw, magnetic) and water-cooled chillers (scroll, reciprocating, screw, variable speed, magnetic); strong grasp of centrifugal chiller theory.

      • Airside Equipment: Skilled in fan-powered boxes, VAVs, VFD theory, AHU operations, control valve theory, and exhaust fans (centrifugal upblast, inline, vane axial).

      • Pumps & Piping: Strong knowledge of pump components, configurations, chiller systems, flow control (automatic, circuit setters), and piping elements (strainers, backflow devices).
