Led by the firm's first Chief Marketing Officer, the marketing function at Goldman Sachs is backed by momentum and a broad imperative to unify the discipline, helping to codify a business-critical function seen as core to the firm's future growth. As such, GS is focused on building out a data-and-technology enabled team of growth marketers, delivering value for the brand and the business. The organization consists of a number of key COE roles in areas such as Brand, Media, and Marketing Strategy, as well as marketing leads for each of our revenue divisions. Together, this team collaborates to build a unified, scalable, and consistent approach to marketing the brand and its offerings. Within the Global Marketing function sits the Asset Management Marketing team, responsible for end-to-end marketing strategies and programs for the entirety of the division. Working across our public-side and alternatives investing strategies, the team leads messaging strategy, content creation, digital marketing, and marketing analytics. A new Global Head of Marketing for Asset Management joined in early 2022.

Role Summary

The head of social media for Goldman Sachs Asset Management will play a key role within the wider Asset Management Marketing team, working to deliver social media content and strategy for a key growth business for the firm.

The head of social media will partner with teams across Asset Management (Marketing, Sales, Investing) and Global Marketing to drive strategy, draft and edit excellent copy, work with designers to create engaging visual assets, and manage content production and publication through necessary governance processes.

Position Responsibilities



  • Develop Goldman Sachs Asset Management's social media marketing strategy to help build awareness and affinity for Goldman Sachs Asset Management and its investment capabilities.
  • Lead the creation of social media marketing content about new product/fund launches, major announcements, and events. Partner with teams across Marketing as editor and/or copywriter, and working with a design team.
  • Oversee a coordinated social media calendar that harmonizes with Goldman Sachs Asset Management's wider content calendar and sequences published content appropriately and effectively.
  • Spearhead projects to update and innovate our social media marketing practices. Produce compelling business cases, manage stakeholders, and lead execution of projects hands-on.
  • Measure and report social media marketing impact, continually taking active steps to optimize our approach according to performance.
  • Manage a small team and partner closely with other teams across the business, marketing and communications functions.
  • Act as a dedicated steward of Goldman Sachs Asset Management's value proposition and tone of voice in production of all social media marketing content.
  • Manage reputational, regulatory and operational risk proactively and in close collaboration with media relations, legal and compliance teams.



Qualifications



  • 5+ years in a similar role within a similar leading financial institution
  • Exceptional copyediting and copywriting skills, with demonstrable experience of communicating to sophisticated and technical B2B audiences
  • Strong knowledge of the asset management industry: clients, products, regulations, competitors
  • Interest in investment views and markets with the ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and develop a clear, compelling story
  • Experience of working with marketing performance data to continually identify opportunities for improvement
  • Demonstrable track record of working effectively across matrixed, complex organizations with excellent communication, influencing and presentation skills as well as the ability to engage with partners at all levels
  • Ability to work at speed and under pressure, while maintaining extremely high standards
  • Experience of managing a team

Salary Range

The expected base salary for this Chicago, Illinois, United States-based position is $110000-$230000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
