The Senior Manager of Cleantech Innovation shall report to the VP of Cleantech Innovation and will be responsible for driving the next phase of engineering focused development and expansion. In this role, you will focus on identifying and maturing innovative cleantech solutions, nurturing partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, and supporting the implementation of initiatives that lead to increased RWE Clean Energy competitive advantage.

We are seeking highly collaborative individuals who can work with a diverse and experienced team of renewable energy professionals in a flexible, fast-paced work environment. The ideal fit will have previous leadership experience and growth-stage entrepreneurial success in the cleantech or renewable sector.

Role Responsibilites:

  • Contribute to achieving short and long term RWECE targets (growth & financial results from operating fleet) by identifying technology solutions which improve financial results, enhance or unlock existing and/or new business models and/or market opportunities.
  • Serve as a liaison within the RWE technical community. Ensure critical information, capabilities, and expertise are shared and leveraged where appropriate.
  • Establish an innovation platform that enables all RWECE team members to share novel ideas and insights on advanced technologies, rank them, progress them when deemed appropriate and appropriately allocate budget.
  • Support VP and SVP to develop and implement engineering strategic initiatives to scale, accommodate new value chain positioning and projects delivery models
  • Identify, launch and maintain RWE cross-opcos initiatives related to technology community
  • Work closely with the internal communication, regulatory, and community engagement teams to consolidate engineering inputs and outputs to support company initiatives
  • Actively seeking out and nurturing innovative solutions, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and encouraging team members to contribute novel ideas
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry players to leverage insights and amplify competitive edge
  • Ensure effective collaboration across different departments and external partners to enhance operational efficiency and drive collective success
  • Support to continuously shape the vision of the Engineering and Cleantech Innovation team

Job Requirements and Expereince:

  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering and MBA is preferred
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in clean energy, sustainability, innovation management, venture development, or technology commercialization
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and develop innovative growth initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data and market trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with financial analysis and budgeting
  • Strong understanding of or experience in the renewable energy industry preferred
  • Strong presentation, verbal and written skills as well as proven ability to develop well-written documents and presentations
  • An understanding of development technologies and third-party offerings
  • Ability to see beyond the obvious, push limits, ask new questions and venture into new territory
