Intern - Controls / BAS (Job number: 1279)

Johnson Controls invites you to apply for a position in our internship program with our team based at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD. Our internship program is designed to provide you with a positive work/training experience and challenging objectives that are consistent with your career goals and current level of education. Specific identified internship responsibilities are outlined below.

Primary Duties:

* Support the Senior Controls Technician with various HVAC controls / Building Automation System (BAS) related duties to include, but not limited to, preventive maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning, point-to-point checkouts, troubleshooting and/or replacement of HVAC controls systems & equipment, and building control systems

* Monitor the performance of the Facility Control Systems. This includes monitoring and managing equipment and system alarms utilizing graphical user interfaces and control system programs
* Validates equipment and system alarms, and creates work orders in the Computerized Maintenance Management Systems for the Technicians to follow up with
* Completes shift reports and logs primarily in Microsoft Word and Excel

* Assist with operating and diagnosing electronic and digital control system malfunctions
* Test and perform modifications to systems software when needed
* Assist with sketching and documenting field changes and discrepancies for engineering corrections and drawings
* Assist with developing training and associated manuals and documentation for customers on electronic control systems operations
* Compiles project documentation, such as certificate of completion, customer training forms, training certificates and punch lists

* Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

* Currently enrolled as a full-time student at a U.S. college or university
* Pursuing a degree in an Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics Technology, HVAC, or a related field
* This position services U.S. Government contracts and requires handling of export controlled and other sensitive government data which requires full U.S. citizenship
