We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to focus on maintaining our data engineering platform. This role is critical to ensuring that the platform operates smoothly and efficiently, supporting our data-driven initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering and a commitment to team coordination and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Platform Maintenance: Regularly monitor and maintain the data engineering platform to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability.

  • Team Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions that meet business needs.

  • Proactive Issue Resolution: Identify and address potential issues before they impact operations, optimizing data pipelines and ensuring data integrity.

  • Documentation and Standards: Establish and uphold development standards and documentation practices to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding of new team members.

  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience working in the investment management domain

  • Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift).

  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Scala, or Go.

  • Strong skills in ETL tools and frameworks (e.g., Spark, dbt, Kafka).

  • Strong experience with data orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Prefect).

  • Strong experience with databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and data visualization tools (e.g., QuickSight).

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a focus on team coordination.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

  • Strong background with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes).

  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques and data analysis.

PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.
Salary Range: $ 175,000.00 - $ 240,000.00
