Project Appointment Researcher-Yu Lab

Position Description:

The Xue-Zhong Yu lab is seeking a Project Appointment-Researcher for a fixed-term appointment for the purposes of acquiring new research skills and techniques.

Primary Functions

• Design and perform laboratory procedures and experiments with supervision.
• Participate in discovery projects.
• Coordinate research study activities; lead and manage projects.
• Prepare scientific reports, outcome findings, and scientific manuscripts.
• Participate in meetings with principal investigator and research staff.

M-F 8-5

Position Requirements:

Minimum Required Education: PhD in biomedical field

Minimum Required Experience: Flow cytometry, cell culture, rodent husbandry, and procedures

Preferred Education: PhD in Immunology, Cell Biology, and/or Molecular Biology

Preferred Experience: Working with pathogens at BSL-2 or higher level

Field: Microbiology and Immunology

Knowledge - Skills - Abilities

Required knowledge: proficiency in flow cytometry and have demonstrated experience working with rodents in the field of microbiome, molecular biology and cell culture; knowledge of microbiology, chemistry, mathematics, statistics, documentation, records management, data utilization, complex problem solving, critical thinking, resource management, and writing skills.
