Suncoast Hospice, a member of Empath Health is currently seeking a part-time Pediatric Social Worker to join our team!

Location: servicing Hillsborough County

Schedule: Part-Time (20 hours per week) The specific weekdays and times to be determined. It will be between the hours of 8am-7pm (later hours are most needed).

The Pediatric Services Social Worker:

  • Qualified Social Worker responsible for assessing and intervening regarding the needs of chronically or terminally ill children and their families.
  • The pediatric social worker is the primary social worker for the pediatric care programs including Hospice, Perinatal Loss, and Partners In Care.

Position Requirements:

  • Education and/or Experience: Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from a school of Social Work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education
  • Licensure: Requires LCSW or Registered Social Work Intern
  • Strongly prefers 1 year of social work experience.
  • Previous experience working with seriously ill children preferred. Must be comfortable working with pediatrics.
  • Continuing Education: As required for licensure.
  • For field-based positions, employees must have reliable transportation which will enable them to perform tasks and responsibilities in a timely and appropriate fashion. Must provide proof of valid automobile insurance, a copy of which will be placed in the employee's HR file.
