work with frequent guidance from of senior personnel within established procedures within the functional area of the metals or felt value stream. Responsible for the safe set up and operation of production machine(s) in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Clocks to and perform transactions in Shop-Trak; providing updates status on projects, material moves, and scrap for all operations
  • Load, unload, receive, and store raw materials and supplies
  • Prepare machines to start a production cycle performing calibration cleaning and other activities efficiently IAW quality standards and established safety procedures
  • Use computer aided manufacturing programs to monitors, controls, and adjusts machine settings while operating machinery and/or equipment, according to specifications.
  • Perform periodic checks on machinery and/or equipment and solve problems as detected, trouble shoot issues that occur during shift, and maintain operator logs
  • Completes work as required to meet production and schedule requirements
  • Performs minor repairs and routine preventative maintenance on machines to including cleaning scrap trays and filters.
  • Assist peers and/or cross train on other machines/equipment asneeded.
  • Works with peers to Identify product defects and report necessary nonconformances to Supervisor, and/or Quality Inspector
  • Works with peers to coordinate movement parts and/or products to the next step operation
  • Follows safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment as required
  • Maintains equipment and work areas; cleans and performs basic repairs as needed.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required

  • Mechanical aptitude to operate and maintain machinery effectively
  • Possess basic arithmetic and computer skills
  • Comfortable using hand tooling and basic measuring equipment, tolerances are key
  • Understand oral and written instructions with ability to learn quickly, meet deadlines, and maintain equipment
  • Communication and people skills; team player willing to learn.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment (i.e., ability to wear required PPE, work in a dusty, hot, non-climate-controlled environment; with stairs, frequent walking, standing and occasional lifting of material).
  • Ability to work off shift hours in support of plant initiatives.
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in core production roles within 90 days of hire.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish (preferred)
  • Knowledge of G-Code (May be required based on position)

  • Due to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity and cold

  1. Office Environment - This position does not operate in a professional office environment and is not exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
  2. Plant Environment - This position operates in a manufacturing setting and can be subject to extreme cold and hot temperatures; uneven walking surfaces with cords, tools, and other obstacles; intermittent loud noises; and dusty/dirty conditions. Where applicable PPE is required. PPE includes hard hats, safety glasses, earplugs, steel toe/composite boots, and fall protection.

Some machine positions may require additional certification or a technical training program.
