PERFORMANCE OPTIMIZATION /SYSTEMS DESIGN ENGINEER

THE ROLE:

AMD's server software and solutions engineering team is seeking a senior engineer to drive end-customer application optimization. This role requires deep expertise in x86 architecture and database internals, along with hands-on experience in software performance profiling, debugging, and optimization. A strong background in application development within a vertical is a plus. Strong leadership skills, cross-functional collaboration, and partner engineering experience are essential. You will work closely with product, marketing, and silicon development teams to shape strategies for enablement, performance optimization, and competitive analysis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Comprehensive understanding of x86 computing architecture
• Proven expertise in software-level code optimization
• Successful track record in building and leading high-performing engineering teams
• Deep knowledge of database internals, analytics, and operating systems

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Exposure to systems architecture
• Experience running, analyzing, and system benchmarks
• Solid programming skills in Python, C, or C++

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related equivalent
