DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Installation Security Officer at Fort Indiantown Gap (FIG), you will play a vital role in protecting the property, grounds, facilities, tenants, employees, and the general public. Your responsibilities will include enforcing rules and regulations, controlling access to FIG and restricted areas, and responding to both routine and emergency calls. In addition, you will work closely with emergency service personnel and local, state, and federal law enforcement authorities. Your skills and expertise will be crucial in maintaining the safety and security of FIG.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment (8 hours per day; 40 hours per week)
  • Work hours are 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM; with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Work schedule may change based on operational needs.
    • Shift work including a rotating schedule based on seniority, with rotating days off
  • Overtime and travel as operationally necessary
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of security, law enforcement, or military experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

  • You must possess an active motor vehicle license.
  • You must obtain active National Crime Information Center (NCIC) certification issued by the Federal Bureau of Investigation within the probationary period and maintain certification for the duration of employment in this job.
  • You must obtain active Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) and Pennsylvania Justice Network (JNET) certifications issued by the Pennsylvania State Police within the probationary period and maintain certification for the duration of employment in this job.
  • You must obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) as issued by the federal Department of Defense within the probationary period and maintain access for the duration of employment in this job.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must possess a valid federal or state-issued photo ID and pass a favorable NCIC screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
