Overview
DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a full-time Senior Project Manager to lead onsite contract support efforts at the United States Coast Guard (USCG) Waterways Commerce Cutter (WCC) Project Resident Office (PRO) in Bayou La Batre, AL. This role serves as the primary liaison between DecisionPoint and the Government, overseeing the execution of programmatic, administrative, and scheduling functions in support of the WCC cutter production lifecycle. The ideal candidate will possess deep experience in project management, particularly in shipbuilding or naval engineering environments, and will be comfortable managing high-paced data collection, documentation, and communications workflows. This position is on-site in Bayou La Batre, AL.
Duties & Responsibilities
Serve as the single point of contact for the KO, KS, COR, and PRO XD on all contract matters.
- Provide daily onsite leadership and oversight of all contractor activities at the PRO.
- Respond to Government inquiries and technical issues within one business day.
- Oversee the execution of contract documentation and administrative support tasks including:
- Task tracking
- Meeting scheduling and support
- Briefing development (PowerPoint, white papers, emails, etc.)
- Action item capture and reporting
- Develop, edit, and format both recurring and ad hoc reports based on Government templates.
- Manage WCC PRO correspondence and ensure compliance with COMDTINST M5216.4 standards.
- Interface with senior military and civilian stakeholders to gather and validate program information.
- Coordinate and manage rapid-response data calls (up to 40 per hull annually), ensuring submission within 24 hours or less.
- Maintain logs and suspense tracking systems for incoming/outgoing correspondence and deliverables.
- Conduct weekly reviews of the contractor's Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) in Primavera; identify discrepancies and report findings.
- Maintain the internal WCC PRO IMS and ensure bi-monthly updates.
- Conduct research and recommend communication tools to align with key program milestones (e.g., keel laying, launches, commissioning).
- Support media coordination, content development, and program event planning.
Qualifications
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience relevant to project or program management within engineering, defense, or shipbuilding domains.
- At least four (4) years of experience in a project management role, preferably on Government contracts.
- Familiarity with ship construction programs and production schedules.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft 365 Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, Excel).
- Experience with Primavera P6 for IMS management and analysis.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with attention to detail in written communication.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced shipyard environment with shifting priorities.
Desired:
- Experience working with USCG or other DoD ship acquisition programs.
- Demonstrated experience with stakeholder communication strategy and event planning.
- Familiarity with the Major System Acquisition Manual (MSAM) and DHS acquisition processes.
Preferred Certifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
- ITIL or HDI certification (demonstrating alignment with ITSM principles)
- Primavera P6 certification
