OVERVIEW: |
This position reports to the Associate Head of School for Program and serves on the admission team. The Admission Associate is a warm and welcoming person with excellent writing, interviewing, organizational, and follow-up skills. This person demonstrates initiative, is a self-starter, and works effectively as a member of the admission team. The position requires a professional appearance with effective public speaking skills. This individual effectively articulates the vision and programs of Kent Denver School and is able/willing to work evenings, breakfasts, and other times outside of the usual work day. As with all Kent Denver School employees, the Admission Associate is committed to the vision of Kent Denver School, to quality performance, to ongoing self-assessment and improvement, and to a positive team approach to working with students, their families, and co-workers. |
Admission Process
Interviews prospective Middle and Upper School applicants and parents/guardians to assess applicant appropriateness for the school to convey the value of a Kent Denver education. Serves on Middle and Upper School Admission Committees Reviews all applicants and participates in Admission Committee meetings
Events and Visit Day Coordination
Supports with arranging Middle & Upper School student visitations Attends all Admission Events, fairs, school visitations, and visitor receptions Coordinates and supports the planning of the Middle and Upper School Accepted Student celebration
Marketing and Communication
Office and Administrative Support
Teaching/Advising/Coaching (as needed)
May include responsibilities related to teaching, student advising, or coaching, depending on school needs and candidate expertise
QUALIFICATIONS Successful candidates will possess the following: |
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required Experience working in schools is a plus (but not required) Strong interpersonal, writing, public speaking, and organizational skills. A warm personality, positive energy, and a sincere desire to work closely with students The ability to work deftly with diverse populations and personalities An ability to see the potential in every student and family Ability to function well in a dynamic school environment while maintaining a sense of humor Strong computer and technological competence An ability to manage one's own stress and practice self-care
