We are looking for a Process Integration Manager located in Carlsbad, CA. The responsibilities of this manager will include ownership of the process engineering team, including technical oversight, resource management, performance management, personnel development, cost analysis, recruiting and selection, technology development and planning. This person will be a highly technical leader that will be responsible for overseeing process improvement for optical transceiver products.

This Manager should have a solid foundation in hi-volume manufacturing process, optomechanical assemblies, design-for-manufacturing, enhancing yield, cycle time and quality.

What You Will Do

  • Lead, coach, and develop the team responsible for process development.
  • Provide the connection between multiple sites and mitigate process interactions with design.
  • Guide continuous improvement opportunities while working with product integration.
  • Manage and interact with suppliers, subcontractors and contract manufactures.
  • Generate detailed project plans and budget for new process development activities.
  • Responsible for improving, monitoring and reporting manufacturing process health (yield, failures, quality).
  • Lead manufacturing integration of Molex optical transceivers
  • Ownership of delivering fully qualified and volume capable transceivers while considering cost and schedule targets
  • Determine de-risking strategies during early development stage
  • Drive early resolution of design-for-manufacturing issues
  • Participate in customer communications, when necessary
  • Travel to factories and global design centers to support deployment and internal development meetings
  • Provide technical leadership both locally and other sites
  • Guide continuous improvement through advanced design and manufacturing techniques
  • Define and ensure adherence to product and process development workflows

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor in Engineering discipline
  • At least 5 years of experience in fiber optics, electronic packaging or optoelectronic devices
  • Experience with common packaging processes including: SMT, Die Attach, Wire bonding, optical alignment, complex assemblies
  • Experience with statistical analysis methods and tools (DOE, Gage R&R, etc.).
  • Experience in a leadership role, managing team of Engineers
  • Experience with the reliability of packages and the impact of packaging on device reliability

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Masters degree or concentration in optical/photonics
  • Experience with optical transceivers

For this role, we anticipate paying $150,000 - $200,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
