We manage the state park system and programs to inventory, interpret and protect Tennessee's rich natural, historical and archaeological heritage. How you make a difference in this role: Are you looking for an opportunity to work with Tennessee State Parks Our Tennessee State Parks are among the most beautiful parks in the United States. This position is at Hiwassee Scenic River State Park in southeastern Tennessee, in Polk County, adjacent to Cherokee National Forest. The park is home to the state's first scenic river. Aside from offering kayaking and rafting, the park also offers access to primitive camping, fishing, and natural beauty, such as a scenic hike along the John Muir Trail as it winds through the river gorge. Job Overview: The position requires excellent customer service skills, effective interaction with diverse guests and user groups, and strong community outreach. Preferred candidates will have five or more years of natural resource or parks and recreation management experience and a bachelor's degree in Natural Resource-Based Management (Natural Resources, Forestry, Wildlife Biology, etc.) or Park and Recreation Management. The candidate is required to be a state-commissioned officer recognized by the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy or be willing to become commissioned. Key Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications: Preferred candidates will have five or more years of natural resource or parks and recreation management experience and a bachelor's degree in Natural Resource-Based Management (Natural Resources, Forestry, Wildlife Biology, etc.) or Park and Recreation Management. The candidate is required to be a state-commissioned officer recognized by the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy or be willing to become commissioned.
