Position Description:

PEDIATRIC CLINICAL NEUROPSYCHOLOGIST

Children's Wisconsin and Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) is recruiting a pediatric neuropsychologist to provide neuropsychological care to children in northeastern Wisconsin.

A personal commitment to improving access for neuropsychological care to historically medically underserved populations is required, and individuals from diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply. Minimum requirements include a doctoral degree in psychology with neuropsychological emphasis, and completion of a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric clinical neuropsychology. Qualified applicants should be license-eligible in the State of Wisconsin and board certified or eligible for ABPP/ABCN certification. This position is a faculty position in the Division of Child Neuropsychology in the Department of Neurology at MCW, and applicants at any rank (assistant, associate, or full professor) will be considered. Our faculty are dedicated to clinical, research, education, and community engagement.

Partnering with neurologists, neonatologists, neurosurgeons, cardiologists and physiatrists, this neuropsychologist's clinical care and research will primarily focus on children who live in the Northeastern regions of Wisconsin and the surrounding communities. Patient care will be provided within the Children's Wisconsin hospital system and primarily in Ashwaubenon in ambulatory and multidisciplinary clinics. Our neuropsychologists maintain a general clinical practice for patients with a variety of neurological and medical conditions. Desirable candidates possess unique talents and skills to mesh with existing operations. The abilities to work and think quickly, efficiently, and flexibly, to conduct both comprehensive and brief consultative evaluations, to be a strong team player, and to be timely in completion of required patient care, training, and research documentation are essential. This position provides substantial opportunities for building relationships, envisioning a healthy future for our kids, and solving problems regarding access to neuropsychological care and treatment and educational recommendations throughout the community.

Successful candidates will have strong interests in collaborative clinical research in neuroscience patients. Advanced methods for data extraction from the medical record at our institution allow for timely research. The Department provides mentoring, research administrative support, and protected time for new faculty to establish their research program. Educational activities may also be available. At MCW, community partnerships that improve access in health care are encouraged and supported and consideration of equitable care is essential across all missions.

The role is employed by the Medical College of Wisconsin and provides care at Children's Wisconsin locations in Northeast Wisconsin. Both organizations are based in the Milwaukee area.
