Overview To plan, manage, and oversee projects and analytical studies related to debit cards. To provide results/recommendations to senior management for the planning and execution of the Debit Card strategic initiatives. To develop and implement strategies to market and grow the debit card portfolio. Responsibilities
- Plans, manages and leads projects and initiatives related to Debit Cards:
- Develops and manages large-scale strategic initiatives (including services, products, and technology) that address short and long-term business opportunities and mitigate loss/risk
- Defines, develops, and manages division project plans to ensure project documentation/schedules are in compliance with regulatory requirements/standards, and milestones are completed on schedule
- Develops reporting tools and oversees the accurate and timely preparation of statistical and management reports
- Serves as subject matter expert of Debit Card's business processes, products, and automated systems to support the division in obtaining data and leads efforts to identify and resolve system related issues
- Maintains expert knowledge of trends, markets, the financial services industry, security, legal issues/regulatory changes, and Navy Federal business strategies
- Analyzes projects and initiatives to ensure performance standards are met
- Oversees compliance with Federal and state legislation, and third-party contractual agreements related to Debit Cards
- Manages the identification, integration, and analyses of cross-organizational information to tie demographic and transactional data to member behavior patterns:
- Coordinates with key division team members and other department's business units (e.g., Marketing, Lending) in the use of data mining and analysis techniques to identify and study trends, and provide SVP, Debit Card & Funds Services, and senior management with timely, specialized analyses on business initiatives, possible outcomes, and answers to compliance issues
- Formulates business case and conducts analytical studies to estimate return on investment, revenue, and potential growth models; makes presentations to senior management outlining initiatives, objectives, action plans, cost/benefit analysis, risk/loss mitigation, and results
- Oversees the creation and analyses of profiles to anticipate business performance and design models for future business decisions and to maximize return on investment on matters of significant impact
- Analyzes the business environment (e.g., competitor practices, member needs and preferences, demographics, etc.) to recommend the optimal mix of products and services; may participate in the implementation of proposed initiatives
- Develops and implements marketing strategies to drive debit card portfolio growth
- Performs other related duties as required or appropriate
Qualifications
- Expert knowledge of key research methods, including data mining, forecasting, and applied statistics
- In-depth knowledge of a broad range of research tools, trends, issues, and technologies
- Strong knowledge of Federal/state laws, industry regulations, and Navy Federal policies related to division functions
- Extensive and progressively responsible experience in leadership/supervisory positions which reflect the ability to work independently; plan, organize, and direct operations; exercise judgment and initiative; make sound decisions, handle multiple priorities, establish efficiency standards, and manage effectively to achieve goals
- Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicting requests, contend with changing requirements and priorities, and meet deadlines and budgets
- Proficiency with PCs and word processing, spreadsheet, database, reporting, and presentation software
- Advanced skill in capturing and analyzing large sets of qualitative and quantitative data for recommending and supporting sound business decisions
- Strong project management, research, analytical, and problem solving skills
- Highly effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Highly effective skill in persuading and negotiating, working with all levels of management and external organizations, and communicating complex ideas to non-technical people
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience
Desired Qualifications
- Thorough understanding of the financial services environment and Navy Federal's functions, policies, procedures, products, and services
- Thorough experience in managing projects and conducting cost-benefit studies and analysis
- Advanced degree in a related field
