Your Role

The Vice President/Business Line Manager, Portable Air will achieve profitable and sustainable growth of the full range of Chicago Pneumatic and American Pneumatic Tool Portable Air products through unique and effective sales and marketing strategies. In collaboration with the General Manager, Business Line Managers, and others, this position will ensure that the company Portable Air targets are achieved. This position also drives the future development of marketing and sales strategies and solutions and explores new markets to increase our customer base.
Key objectives are strategic market penetrations and continued relationship building with internal and external customers. The long-term objective is to become a single source supplier of our products and services through the creation of programs aimed at getting national rental companies, dealers and distributors, and other key accounts to buy our complete tools and equipment offering.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Vice President/Business Line Manager for Portable Air has responsibility for leading a high performing and dynamic marketing team to deliver the full growth potential of the Portable Air division. The main responsibilities of the position are:
- Build, develop and lead a team of high performing marketing professionals
- Develop and implement marketing strategies for the North American market to grow market share with dealers, distributors, national rental companies, and key accounts.
- Develop solid business relationships with key management personnel at national rental companies, dealers and distributors, and other key accounts.
- Build effective relationships with the regions and facilitate best practice sharing across the regions.
- In collaboration with Business Line Managers and others, drive sales force activities to achieve Portable Air targets.
- Manage inventory levels with accurate forecasting to the Product Companies as well a ensure stock on hand is optimized for demand (including seasonal).
- Ensure inventory availability is made transparent to both internal and external stakeholders, both current and timely.
- Create systems, processes and analytics that leverage data to provide effective actionable insights to the business to improve customer value and market presence.
- In collaboration with the Marketing and Communications role, produce highly engaging and creative marketing material based on commercial insights; define and implement projects aimed at increasing the digitalization of marketing and sales processes.
- Manage the corporate rebate programs and ensure timely reporting on activities.
- Provide in-depth and informative reports on activities for review during Company, Divisional, and Business Area meetings.
- Utilize the company's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database to review and drive sales force activities including the maintenance of contacts, notes, activities, and quotations.
- Coordinate and conduct product demonstrations, plant visits, and training as needed by internal and external customers.
- Introduce new products and features/benefits to the sales force.
- Establish and monitor pricing levels to be competitive as well as profitable, while ensuring that the pricing structure enables all sales channels and avoids channel conflicts.
- Research competitor activity and prepare reports for the management team on upcoming threats/opportunities.
- Gather market intelligence and feedback from the account(s) for the purpose of new product development.
- Represent the core values and attitudes of the Atlas Copco Group at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.


To succeed, you will need

A 4-year college or university degree in engineering, sales, marketing or similar plus 10 years of experience working in industrial equipment sales/marketing with proven supervisory and management skills.

You must be able to operate in a senior-level business environment, including effectively communicating and developing long-term sustainable relationships with the management team of internal and external customers.
