Business Unit Overview

Our Agency distribution system is the lifeblood and key differentiator of New York Life, where dedicated individuals like you provide vital support to our field force and connect with clients, helping build lifelong relationships. As part of our team, you'll equip agents with the tools, training, and support they need to succeed and thrive. This role will cover the Pacific Zone.

What You'll Do:

  • Directs sales service and support provided to agents.
  • Collaborate with Head of Wholesale Support and other leaders to develop and execute on sales strategy.
  • Collaborate with staff to develop and implement sales implementation action plans, including all messaging and specific sales and marketing activities.
  • Direct the identification and analysis of key performance metrics for zones, identification of market trends, and development of targeted sales efforts for specific customers.
  • Direct the collaboration between staff and agents in the event of complex cases and competitive situations.
  • Oversee the training of and support provided to agents on products, policyholder materials, and marketing initiatives.
  • Direct the education of agents in product knowledge and sales techniques, including presentation skills and customized presentations.
  • Oversee and direct staff's coordination and participation in sales and marketing events to promote increases in sales and motivate agents.
  • Collaborate with head of Wholesale Support, Life Products, and Service Organization leaders to provide feedback from agents about products, services, processes, and procedures.
  • Influence the development of new products and marketing initiatives.
  • Provide a high level of technical guidance to staff with regard to new products and marketing initiatives and how best to execute on them in their zones.
  • Direct, develop, and manage staff, including providing coaching and training, setting goals, evaluating performance, planning staff assignments and development, and making and approving people management decisions (e.g., recruitment, promotions, terminations, and salary changes).

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree required or higher preferred
  • 10 years+ of field experience, individual life, and/or related products
  • Experience as an agent
  • Comprehensive knowledge of regulations pertaining to life products
  • Strong management, written and oral communication, and presentation skills
  • Series 6, 63 and 26 required
  • CLU, CHFC certifications
  • Extensive travel required (50-70%)

Pay Transparency

Salary Range:$135,000 - $150,000

Overtime eligible:Exempt

Discretionary bonus eligible:No

Sales bonus eligible:Yes

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
