About the Department and/or College

Accounting Services serves a vital role in Texas Tech University's scholarship and research missions. Our success is measured by our ability to partner with the campus community, provide innovative solutions, and guide our customers through decisions of resource allocation amid an increasingly complex regulatory environment.

Major/Essential Functions


  • Assist in establishing funds in the university's financial system (Banner) and terminating fund/FOPS for all assigned funds in accordance with department policy and procedure.
  • Process, review, monitor and retain accounting transactions to ensure accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and conformance to governing regulation and policy. Ensure proper documentation is maintained for all assigned funds.
  • Respond to campus inquiries and address accounting issues to support departments and financial manager in their financial mandagement and fiduciary responsibilities.
  • Perform compliance reviews, edit checks, and other periodic fund maintenace analysis in accordance with department policy and procedures including, but not limited to, orphan transactions and negative fund balances.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 1 year of experience OR combination of education and experience to equal 5 years.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting.

Pay Statement
