We are seeking a highly skilled Database Engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust database systems that support critical business applications. This role is responsible for ensuring data integrity, optimizing performance, and implementing secure and scalable database solutions.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Database Engineer: Pay commensurate with experience.

Database Engineer Responsibilities Include:



  • Design, develop, and maintain relational and/or NoSQL databases.
  • Optimize queries and database performance for scalability and efficiency.
  • Implement data security measures, backup strategies, and recovery plans.
  • Collaborate with application developers and analysts to define data requirements.
  • Monitor database systems and resolve performance and reliability issues.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including data models and schemas.
  • Support data migration, ETL processes, and integration efforts.
  • Perform regular audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance with security policies.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned



Database Engineer Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of experience in database engineering or administration.
  • Security+ CE preferred.
  • Oracle or SQL certification preferred.
  • Proficiency with database platforms such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with performance tuning and indexing.
  • Knowledge of data security, backup, and disaster recovery techniques.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
  • Familiarity with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL).
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and automation tools.
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator, Oracle Certified Professional, or AWS Database Specialty.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
