Overview

We are seeking a talented Data Visualization Developer to join our team, specializing in transforming complex datasets into visually compelling and actionable insights. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in a variety of data visualization tools and platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlik and SAS, and Oracle Reporting. This position will support the CDAO office initiative within the Defense Health Agency (DHA), driving data-driven decision-making processes and enhancing healthcare delivery through intuitive, interactive dashboards.

Responsibilities

    Develop, design, and maintain interactive dashboards and data visualization solutions to support DHA's data-driven decision-making needs.
  • Utilize various data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, SAS, and others to create intuitive, easy-to-understand visual representations of complex data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and define business requirements, translating them into technical specifications for data visualizations.
  • Implement data mapping, designs, and extraction methods to simplify data refresh and presentation.
  • Support and maintain BI capabilities on DHA servers, portals, and dashboards.
  • Guide the creation of SAS On-Line Analytical Processing (OLAP) cubes and utilize AHRQ indicators to generate tables and charts for quality measures.
  • Convert legacy reports to modern BI platforms and provide technical assistance for ad hoc report generation.
  • Maintain a centralized dashboard environment consolidating MHS dashboards, offering transparency and comprehensive performance overviews.
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and quality of data used in all visualizations.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in data visualization or related fields.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, SAS, and familiarity with statistical programming languages like Python and R.
  • Experience with developing and maintaining dashboards and performance metrics.
  • Strong technical skills in data integration, data processing using ETL tools, and data quality management.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to present complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.

**Preferred:**

  • Experience within a healthcare or government setting.
  • Familiarity with data management frameworks/model development and KPIs.
  • Knowledge of Defense Health Agency (DHA) programs and initiatives, and Military Health System (MHS) analytics.
  • Experience in supporting and maintaining BI capabilities on government servers, and working with modern BI platforms.

Target salary range: $90,270 - $155,037
